GET INVOLVED FOR SAFE WORK AUSTRALIA WEEK
27 August, 2007
This year, Safe Work Australia Week will be held from 21 to 27 October.
"Get involved because safety is everybody's business" is the theme for Safe Work Australia Week which aims to encourage all working Australians, particularly employers, to get involved and concentrate on safety in their workplace to reduce death, injury and disease.
HOW CAN I PARTICIPATE IN SAFE WORK AUSTRALIA WEEK?
Gain some local media coverage for your business by promoting a new safety initiative:
If you have a new safety initiative in your workplace, try contacting your local newspaper to promote it. Arrange to set up a photo opportunity for publicity.
You can hold your own event for Safe Work Australia Week.
By organising a safety event in your workplace you can begin to highlight to your employees the importance of safety and the role that everyone plays in making safety a priority at work.
You can get involved by participating in a safety event in your state or territory or by conducting a safety activity in your own workplace. Incorporating safety into our everyday work practices and making it a daily consideration not only improves occupational health and safety (OHS) performance, but also has a very significant effect on productivity.
